In a sudden developmen, veteran actor Anupam Kher resigned from his post as FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) chairman.
The actor cited his commitment to an international television show.
Anupam Kher tweeted, “It has been an honour, a privilege & a great learning experience to be the Chairman of the prestigious @FTIIOfficial.
But because of my international assignments I won’t have much time to devote at the institute. Hence decided to send my resignation. Thank you.”
The FTII authorities too said that due to his busy schedule, he was not able to fulfill his commitments towards the institution.
It was on October 11 of 2017 that Anupam Kher had been appointed as the new chairman of FTII.
He replaced Gajendra Chauhan, whose tenure was quite controversial as students believed that he was ill-equipped to handle the affairs of the institute.>
