With China coming to rescue of Masood Azhar and Pakistani masters, there is now #BoycottChineseProducts trending on the microblogging website Twitter.
This is a reaction to how China, for the fourth time in last 10 years, refused to support India in a move to declare Jaish-e-Mohammed’s chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
The move was to have been made at United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting.
Earlier yesterday midnight, China vetoed the proposal of UNSC, that had been initiated by France, Britain and the US.
The so-called trend of #BoycottChineseProducts, however, is less beneficial for the nation as India is more dependent on Chinese imports such as electronics, drugs, etc.
It would be prudent here to mention that India imports nearly Rs 70,000 crore worth of telecom equipment per year from China and about 87 per cent of solar energy equipment was imported China from April 2016 to January 2017.
