The Border Security Force, helped reunite a 70-year-old woman with her family one-and-a-half years after she went missing.
Jayamma went missing from her village in Hassan, Mysore, reported. Jayamma’s daughter Sunanda was told on 20 October that her mother had been found by BSF troops in Assam, 3,337 km away from their village.
BSF DG JC Nayak told Sunanda that the troops found her mother near an outpost in Karimganj district on 18 October. It is not clear how the elderly woman reached Assam.
The commander then made a video of the interaction between Jayamma and the constable and uploaded it on social media. Simultaneously, the police established contact with the authorities in Hassan.
On 21 October, Sunanda flew to Guwahati in Assam to reunite with her mother. All thanks to the BSF troops!>
