BSP employees to get Rs 2500 higher ex-gratia

The employees of various units of SAIL will get Rs 2500 higher ex-gratia in comparison to the amount finalized last year. The units where Rs 11000 bonus was distributed last year will get Rs 13500 this year while the units where Rs 13000 bonus was distributed last year will get Rs 15500 this year. Accordingly, the employees of Bhilai Steel Plant will get Rs 15500 bonus.

The mount was finalized during a meeting between the SAIL management and the core group of NJCS unions held at Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The meeting began at 11:30 hrs. The union leaders raised the demand of a minimum bonus of Rs 25000 for every employee. Till lunch break, the leaders had come down to Rs 20000.

Finally the management officials persuaded the TU leaders to sign the agreement for Rs 2500 higher amount than previous year. Last year, the employees of Bhilai Steel Plant, Durgapur Steel Plant, Rourkela Steel Plant, Bokaro Steel Plant and RMD had received Rs 13000 bonus. Hence this year they will get Rs 15500.
