Catalonia separation withheld for now; Spain PM calls emergency meet

In a significant move, the Catalonia leaders have signed official letter authorizing separation from Spain but have also put it on hold. The leaders have appealed for talks with the Spain leaders in Madrid. Meanwhile, Catalonia President Carles Puigdemont has called upon regional parlimentarians to honour the verdict of the people of Catalonia. Meanwhile the Spanish Prime Minister Rajoy has vowed to do everything in his control to prevent separation of Catalonia state and has even summoned a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. A referendum held on October 1 had resulted in over 90 percent of Catalonians voting to separate from Spain.
