Central govt assigns team; to assess damages in Kerala, Tamil Nadu
The central government has assigned a team for assessment of damages caused by cyclone Ockhi.
It need be mentioned that cyclone had struck southern districts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu on November 30.
While so far total of 74 persons have been reported as killed, the local sources claim that many more are missing.
The central team, however, is comprising of disaster management experts and led by Union Home Department officer Vipin Mallik.
While Malik would visit the southern districts, another team would be in Kochi to assess the damages caused in other places like Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram districts. >
