Central govt keen to bring in 600 companies; provide seven lakh jobs over next five years

Under fire for failing to generate enough jobs for the country, the central government has now invited almost 600 global companies to invest in India to create lakhs of jobs over next five years.

According to estimates, around seven lakh new jobs would be created over next five years.

The ‘Invest India’ agency responsible on behalf of central government for bringing in new foreign investment has targeted to bring in 200 companies totaling 85 billion US dollar investment over next two years.

In this year alone, around 43 US billion dollar worth investments have been achieved while there are efforts to take it to at least 100 US billion dollars.
