In yet another swoop, the Chhattisgarh Anti-Corruption Bureau has gone ahead and arrested an assistant agriculture engineer for accepting bribe.
he assistant engineer has been identified as AK Pandey, who is posted with the agriculture engineering department in Kabirdham.
As per ACB sources, the engineer had sought Rs 10,000 from a contractor and the ACB team nabbed him while in the act of accepting the bribe.
ACB sources informed that the assistant engineer had sought money to pass the pending bill of the contractor.
It is also said that contractor Balram Singh Thakur, also of the same district, had filed a complaint that he bribe was being sought from him for getting the pending bill passed.
As per the complaint, Balram Singh Thakur had supplied near two lakhs worth building materials for a check dam and was awaiting the bill payment.
It is then that the issue of bribe came about.>
