Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh held a public meeting in Ucchdeeh village of Surajpur district as part of his state wide and month long Vikas Yatra.
In his address, he said that Surajpur is a shining example of development and it is yet ongoing.
It need be mentioned at Surajpur had been made a district in year 2012.
CM Dr Singh said that farmers, labourers and tribals have all benefited from the developmental initiatives of the government.
He lauded that the pace of development has only picked up since Surajpur became a separate district.
He said that Surajpur is perhaps the top producer of fruits and veggies in whole of the Chhattisgarh.
Senior tribal leaders, former Ministers and legislators were also present on the occasion.
Dr Singh recalled former legislator and former parliamentarian Shiv Pratap Singh and announced naming the Odgi based government college after him.
Dr Singh also announced government college of Silfili after senior tribal leader Late Murari Lal Singh.
Dr Singh performed bhumipujan and also dedicated development works worth over Rs 226 crores while in Surajpur.
State Home Minister Ram Sevak Paikra, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Bhaiyya Lal Rajwade, parliamentarian Ram Vichar Netam as well as former Minister Smt Renuka Singh were also present in the program as Special Guests.
Chief Minister noted how farming and fruit production are helping boost the incomes of the farmers.
He also noted that fishing in over 10K ponds and lentil farming through kits being provided to the farmers is also praiseworthy.
CM Dr Singh also noted that Rs 2400 crores worth paddy bonus would be disbursed during the Vikas Yatra.>
