Sakhi One Stop Centre run by State Government’s Women and Child Development Department has become a powerful yet convenient medium of support for victimized and needy women.
Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendiya recently reviewed this scheme in departmental meeting at Secretariat (Mahanadi Bhavan).
Officials presented report in the meeting and informed that nearly 10 thousand 863 cases have been registered in these sakhi centres, out of which seven thousand 640 cases have been redressed.
More than three thousand women have been provided shelter. Mrs. Bhendiya has given necessary instructions to accelerate the process of redressal.
It is noteworthy that Chhattisgarh is the first state of the country to have Sakhi One Stop Centre in every district, which offers medical, legal support, counselling, police support,
temporary shelter, psychiatric treatment and advice to women of all caste, community, or religion, as per requirement, all under one roof.
