With insistence on the special category status for Andhra Pradesh, the chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will observe a day-long fast on 20 April.
This will be another of his way to protest the Narendra Modi-led central government’s refusal to grant special category status.
Incidentally this will also be the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president’s 68th birthday.
Naidu, with political competition, cannot afford to let appear letting go of this major demand.
Thus the party is consistently making efforts to make central government fulfill all commitments made at the time of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014.
Naidu’s decision to sit on fast came amid an ongoing protest by various political parties in the state against the central government for not fulfilling its promises.>
