Change children’s habit of excess using mobile phones, says Governor

Prizes distributed for competitions organised in Rajbhavan to mark 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji

Governor Smt Anandiben Patel said that the parents should motivate children for controlled use of mobile phone, in the prize distribution ceremony for competitions organised in Rajbhavan to mark 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji.

They should change habit of excess use of mobile phones by children. Parents should restrict time and subjects for mobile use by children.

She said that children must be told about the harms to be caused by mobile phones. Parents should also minimise use of mobile phones.

Smt Anandiben Patel said that parents should inculcate habit of reading books in children and they should be imparted general knowledge.

She said that speeches, drawings of participants in competitions should be published. She suggested that speeches and drawings of children participating in contests in schools should be published in book form. This will motivate children taking admissions.

Trophies and certificates were distributed among winners of students of different schools and children of employees and officers of Rajbhavan, who participated in speech competition, debate and drawing competition in the programme.

On the occasion, prizes were given for winners on the basis of cleanliness survey in houses of employees and officers in Rajbhavan. The competitions were organised in collaboration of School Education Department.

Secretary to Governor, Shri DD Agrawal, officers of school education department, senior officers of Rajbhavan, teachers and parents were present on the occasion.
