Chhattisgarh Cong contemplates meeting Pres over parliamentrary secretaries issue; heres more
As a fallout of disqualification of AAP legislators in national capital Delhi due to office of profit issue, the politics in Chhattisgarh has heated up too.
Congress leader Mohammed Akbar convened a press conference in Congress Bhawan to reiterate its demand for similar action to be taken against 11 of the BJP legislators in Chhattisgarh as well.
He asked as to why the Governor has not sought the opinion of the Election Commission in this matter when the same had been brought to his notice way back in year 2016.
He also alleged that state exchequer has spent so far near Rs 34 crores on these parliamentary secretaries when they should have been disqualified on the issue.
The other Congress leaders said that besides meeting the Governor of Chhattisgarh once again, they are contemplating meeting President of India over this issue as well.
It need be mentioned that state election is due late this year and state government would have to come out with a strategy to counter this narrative against them.
