Amidst rapid surge in cases of Corona infection in Chhattisgarh, the lockdown period has been extended in all 28 districts of the state.
Thirteen districts will be under lockdown till May 5, while in fifteen other districts lockdown will be till May 6.
Our Raipur Correspondent reports that efforts are being made by the Chhattisgarh government to increase the number of beds in hospitals and to ensure continuous supply of medical oxygen.
In Chhattisgarh, along with increasing the number of beds for the treatment of corona infected patients, efforts are also being made to maintain a smooth supply of medical oxygen. Currently, 37 dedicated government Covid hospitals and 154 covid care centers are operational in the state.
More than 28 thousand beds are available in government and private hospitals. Out of these, about 11 thousand five hundred are oxygenated beds. Apart from this, at present more than 1000 ventilators are also available.
To increase the supply of medical oxygen, 15 new oxygen generation plants have been set up in the state. Besides, 9 additional plants will start from next week. To ensure continuous supply of medical oxygen in hospitals, 8,000 industrial cylinders have been converted into medical oxygen cylinders.
