Chhattisgarh govt issues notification; for new committee on Jogi’s caste probe
Ahead of the state election, the Chhattisgarh government has issued a new notification for constituting a committee for probe into the caste status of the former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.
The decision came about after the directives of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
The new notification, as per reports, has been issued on February 21 of this year.
The state government has also empowered it to carry out probe into the caste status of Ajit Jogi.
The committee would have tribal affairs department secretary as chairperson of the committee.
The other two members of the committee would be Director of Directorate of Public Instruction and Director of the Land Records.
The Director of the tribal affairs department would be Secretary to the committee while there would be two subject experts also included in the committee.
It was also informed that there is not likely to be any major changes in the records to be cited and examined to arrive at the conclusion as had been done by the old committee as well.
The new committee would also provide opportunity to all of the stakeholders to present their case before the committee.>
