Chhattisgarh govt staffers on strike for their demands to be fulfilled

The government staffers in Chhattisgarh are staging day long strike to force the state government concede to their demands.

The strike has caused massive disruption to the routine government work in district and tehsil offices.

The staffers who have joined in under the banner of Chhattisgarh Adhikari Karmchari Sangh have threatened indefinite strike incase their demands remain unfulfilled.

The prominent demands of the federation includes four tier promotion payscale, doing away with pay related inconsistencies of the clerical and other cadres.

The other demands includes reducing the service tenure for eligibility of pension from 33 yrs to 25 yrs.

That the pensioners be given benefit of seventh payscale from January 1 of 2016 is also amongst the demands.

The federation has also demanded that staffers willing to settle down in Raipur be provided with developed plots at subsidized rates.
