Chhattisgarh is participating as Principal Partner State in ‘Global Exhibition of Services’ held at Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from Mat 15-18.
In his address to the investors’ meet held in this centre yesterday, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Mr. Chhagan Mundra gave detailed information to the investors from across the country and abroad about the investment opportunities in service sector of Chhattisgarh.
Mr. Mundra said in his address that Chhattisgarh’s expanding service sector has immense scope of capital investment. He said that service sector today is knowledge driven and along with technology, it has an important role to play in economic growth.
He added that a strong service sector backed by a manufacturing sector targeted for higher growth through initiatives like Make in India can play a pivotal role in the growth of our economy and enable it to find its rightful place amongst world economies.
He praised the perpetual effort of our Honourable Prime Minister Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi drive our country towards developed segment. He also congratulated Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Minister Commerce and Industries for the successfully organizing the mega event that has created a global platform for the investors.
In his address to the investors, Mr. Mundra said that Chhattisgarh holds fourth rank among the 32 states of the country in ‘Ease of Doing Business’.
Chhattisgarh touches borders of seven states. The better environment for industries and commerce in state and tremendous progress in these sectors has made Chhattisgarh – a gateway for the market of Central India. Global Exhibition of Services was organized by Government India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Services Export Promotion Council and CII.
Mr. Mundra informed the investors about state government’s policies for industrial sector, land, water, skilled manpower, and also about the availability of electricity and the abundance of natural resources in state. He met investors of service sector from across the country and abroad and discusses about the investment opportunities.
Mr. Mundra invited business delegates to visit Chhattisgarh and explore the untapped potential of the state. He also met representatives from Zambida, Congo and Ghana. The session was initiated with the address of CII Chairman Raipur Chapter Mr. Pankaj Sarda, followed by the opening remarks by MD CSIDC Mr. Sunil Mishra, who gave overview of Chhattisgarh along with service sector opportunities in Chhattisgarh. Mr. Mishra highlighted the significant transformation of the state over the years with a current GDP growth of more than national average.
Director Technical Education Department Mr. Vivek Acharya gave presentation on industry and education linkages and highlighted various schemes in education sector which Government of Chhattisgarh has launched in recent times. General Manager of Chhattisgarh State Tourism Board Mr. Sanjay Singh gave presentation on tourism, water sports and adventure tourism in state. Other sectoral presentation with proposed investible projects was given by State delegates from CHiPS, NRDA and OP Jindal School.
On the occasion, Mission Director, National Health Mission Dr Sarveshvar Narendra Bhure, Principal Investment Officer Mr. Kirti Lal Kala and Mr. Jeevan Pandit from NRDA also addressed the investors’ meet.>
