Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh expressed his deep sympathies on the demise of literary giant and renowned journalist Mr. Prabhakar Choube.
He expired on Wednesday night at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the capital. He was 84- year- old.
Chief Minister in his condolence message mentioned that Mr. Prabhakar Choube, a resident of Raipur, had spent around 54 years in the field of literature and journalism.
He enlightened the citizens and readers with his illuminating articles on the contemporary affairs of the society.
In his death a glorious era had come to an end and the State had lost a towering intellectual. He gave direction to the society with his articles. He had attained a permanent place in the Hindi literary and journalism fields.
It may be mentioned here that Mr. Prabhakar Choubey contributed immensely for long period of 25 years in ‘Deshbandu’- Hindi daily of Raipur-in the popular weekly column ‘Hanste Hain-Rote Hain’.
He showed mirror to the society with his sarcasm and bold writings. His column was popular among the readers. He also worked as Chief Editor in the evening daily ‘ Highway Channel’ – sister concern of the Hindi daily ‘Deshbandhu’-for 11 years. His wrote books-Vignapan Ke bahane’ (1986), ‘Gandhiji Mile’ (2009), ‘Hey Vidhushak-, Tum Mere Priye’, ‘Arji Suniye’ ( 2010), ‘Khel ke baad Maidan ( 2003).
He was honoured with Kavi Narayanlal Parmar Smruti samman in the year 2006. He was born at Sihaava in the year 1935.
