China asserted Doklam to be its territory; after Gen Rawat’s remarks
After Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat spoke the truth about the China border, the Chinese military today criticised Army Chief General Bipin Rawat’s recent remarks that Doklam is a disputed territory.
The Chinese reiterated that Doklam is very much part of China and that India should draw lessons from the 73-day standoff to avoid similar incidents in the future.
Reacting to the Gen Rawat’s comments, Colonel Wu Qian, also spokesman of the Chinese Ministry of Defence, reiterated that Doklam is part of China.
It need be recalled that Gen Rawat earlier this month said that India needs to shift focus from its border with Pakistan to that of China.
He also insisted that pressure is being exerted by Beijing along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
He elaborated that the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) of China has occupied the area in the west of Torsa nullah called northern Dokalam and that at the actual spot the two sides have disengaged.
He added that the tents remain and also the the observation posts. >
