Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society, the IT nodal agency of the State Government, with the objective of fostering empowerment of its 2.8 crore citizensand creating an ecosystem of citizen centric enabling mobile applications, is organizing one of the largest citizen-centric Hackathons – “SKYHack”, for developing technology-enabled disruptive mobile applications for 50 lakh SKY smartphones.
SKYHack provides an unprecedented opportunity to engage the citizen as a social change agent by enabling them to work in tandem with the government in solving the most pressing issues.
CHiPS invites applications from enterprising startups, companies, and students to participate in the Hackathon and develop technology-based innovative solutions to ensure inclusion of every citizen under the ambit ofproactive e-governance across the state.
Following the Honorable Chief Minister’s vision of – ‘Vikas mool mantra, Aadhaar loktantra’ – ‘Driving Development through Democratic Governance’, the Government has launched Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY), through which 50 lakh smartphones will be distributed to the citizens of the state to ensure mobile based
In order to leverage this massive digital opportunity, the participation of experts and citizens is being sought through the medium of a hackathon. This would set a world precedence for developing participative governance and IT infrastructure.
Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes worth Rs.20 lakhs, and mentorship/incubation support from the leading incubator –36 Inc.
Further, winners will work directly with the state departments to develop the solution, along with the business potential for scaling up the product with access to a potential user base of around 50 lakh downloads over smartphones.
