Christopher Nolan Oscar-nominated director has arrived in Mumbai with his family this morning. He was snapped outside a high-end hotel today.
The Interstellar director will be attending the event, Reframing the Future of Film, which will be spread over three days starting March 30. The film event is being hosted by Indian filmmaker and archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur.
In a statement to a leading news agency, Dungarpur said, “Nolan is coming to India to talk about the advent of celluloid and shooting films in celluloid, something that he prefers. He is also going to talk about how the celluloid medium can co-exist with the digital mode. Nolan and Tacita Dean are coming to support the cause of celluloid film.”
“With their visit, along with the participation of some of the who’s who of our Indian film industry, hopefully, the talk and encouragement of shooting and projecting film in celluloid will start,” he added.
Christopher will engage in a discussion at the event on April 1 at the NCPA in Mumbai.
Nolan will also hold a special premiere of his Oscar-nominated film Dunkirk (70mm IMAX film screening), while his previous film Interstellar will have a 35 mm screening.
Many Bollywood celebrities including Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan, Shyam Benegal, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, among others will meet with the filmmaker to discuss cinema.
