CII Chhattisgarh organized a Conference cum Vendor Meet; Doing Business with Indian Railways today on 6 October 2017 at Bhilai.
The objective of the session was focused and pin pointed towards business opportunities with the Indian Railways in line with their policies, procedures and compliances.
Mr Ramesh Agrawal, Chairman Chhattisgarh State Council spoke in his welcome speech about the Indian Railways which always played a vital role in nation building through massive infrastructure development for its expansion year after year resulting to growth of all segments of Industry in the country. Ancillaries and downstream industry in the supply chain to the Indian Railways equally participated in this movement by manufacturing and delivering quality goods and services.
The Chief Guest of the session Mr Sunil Mishra, IFS, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation, Government of Chhattisgarh has briefed about various projects of state government and also few projects on PPP mode going on in the state. Mr Mishra thanked CII for organizing the conference at the apt time as most of projects are coming up in the state.
The speakers of the session were Mr Sudipta Mukherjee, Chairman, CII Eastern Region Task Force on Railways and Director, Titagarh Wagons Limited , Mr P K Singh, General Manager, RITES Limited, Mr Yatish Kumar, Director, Research, Design and Standards Organisation, Mr Rajesh Khade, Chief Materials Manager, South East Central Railway,Mr Sujit Saha, Deputy Chief Material Manager, Diesel Locomotive Works, Mr Sanjay Shukla, Small Industries Development Bank of India,Mr Praful Lakra, Senior Manager, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Mr Dhairya Jhamb, Director, Bhilai Iron & Steel Processing Co (P) Ltd.
The speakers of the session discussed about the detailed Policy and procedure required to become a vendor of Indian Railways. Also, they talked about the various products for which the tender is floated for vendor procurement. They assured all support and encouraged Bhilai Fraternity to join the massive effort of Railway development activity.
As a step towards Hon’ble Prime Ministers’ vision for Make In India, the Indian railways will procure 50% of the Manufactured products by local Industries. Also, Indian Railways is trying to make the Procurement process online to encourage Digital India.
The session ended with the formal Vote of Thanks by Mr Pankaj Sarda, Vice Chairman, CII Chhattisgarh. The conference witnessed large number of participation from distinguished Industries from Bhilai, Ancillary Industry and different Industry associations making it a Grand Success.
