Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel chaired a discussion session on Schedule Tribes and Other Forest Dwellers Act of 2006 and its amended regulations.
CM Baghel said that the act intends to benefit those who have living in the forested areas for three generations prior to December 13 of 2005.
He said that the act needs to be implemented properly so that the genuine beneficiaries may achieve intended benefits.
CM Baghel said that committees at sub divisional, district and state level will be constituted to fast redress the pending cases.
Speaking on the occassion, state forest Minister Mohd Akbar mentioned the different types of complaints that are from beneficiaries and how to redress them.
