CM Dr Raman Singh : Govt is aware and responsive to grievances of employees and pensioners

Additional Annual Expenditure of Rs 500 crore on Dearness Allowance

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that State Government is aware and responsive to various grievances of its employees and pensioners.

State Government has issued orders about hike in dearness allowance of employees receiving salary under sixth and seventh pay commission, from Secretariat (Mahanadi Bhavan). In addition, State Government has also issued orders for dearness relief on pensions of retired and deceased pensioners.

Now additional expenditure of nearly Rs 500 crore would be incurred in implementation of all these orders.

Chief Minister informed that State Government employees, who were receiving dearness allowance at 4% from January 1, 2017 under revised payscale of year 2017, will be receiving dearness allowance at the rate of 5% from July 1, 2017.

The payable amount of hiked allowance will be paid in cash from May 2018.

Chief Minister informed that decision regarding payment of arrears will be taken soon. He further informed that State Government employees, who have been receiving salary under Chhattisgarh Salary Revision Rule 2009, were receiving dearness allowance at the rate of 136% since January 1, 2017, which has been now increased to 139% since July 1, 2017.

Dr Singh informed that under seventh pay commission, revised rates for dearness relief for retired employees and deceased pensioners have also been sanctioned.

They were receiving dearness relief at the rate of 4% every month on original pension and family pension since January 1, 2017, which has been increased to 5% from July 1, 2017.

The hiked amount of dearness relief will be paid with pension of May 2018. Chief Minister further informed that retired employees and deceased pensioners of before January 1, 2016 were receiving dearness relief at the rate rate of 136% since January 1, 2017, which has been increased to 139 per cent from July 1, 2017. They will also get this hiked amount of dearness relief from May 2018.
