CM Raman, Railway Minister lay foundation stones of works worth crores in Cgarh

This day will be remembered for years to come as the foundation stones of several railway projects worth Rs 9952 crore were laid today.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Union Railway Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal laid the foundation stones of four major railway projects at a massive public meeting at village Hardibazaar district Korba as a part of Atal Vikaas Yatra.

The railway network of 255 kilometre linking Katgora-Mungeli-Kawardha will upgrade the facilities in the backward region.

Industry Minister Mr. Amar Agrawal, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Lakhanlal Dewangan, MPs Dr.Banshilal Mahato, Mr.Lakhan Sahu were also present.

Foundation stone was laid Gewra Road-Pendra Road under the East -West Corridor railway link. The project worth Rs Four thousand 970 crore will provide 135.3 railway link. Nine new railway stations will spring up en route.

Dr. Raman Singh and Mr. Goyal also laid the foundation stone of 63 km Dharamjaigarh-Korba link with an investment of Rs One thousand 686 crore . Six new stations will emerge on the tracks.

Kharsia-Dharamjaigarh (131 km) rail link foundation stone was also laid. The investment will be around Rs Three thousand 55 crore.

Chief Minister and Union Railway Minister Mr. Goyal laid the foundation stone of Chirmiri (Koria district)-Nagpur Road halt (17 km) via video-conferencing. The estimated cost will be around 241 crore. The trains from Ambikapur-Bilaspur and Anuppur-Jabalpur will pass though Chirmiri.

A MoU was also signed for 255 kilometer railway link-Katghora-Kartala-Mungeli-Kawardha-Khairagarh-Dorgargarh with an investment of Rs Five thousand 950 crore.
