Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has thanked Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh for all the aid and assistance being provided by Central Government to the state government.
Today, Dr Raman Singh said- I have assured Union Home Minister that Chhattisgarh Government is making active and consistent efforts to meet the goal of ending naxal violence and terror by year 2022, with support Central Government.
“We are committed to attain this goal. Chhattisgarh Government is also doing serious work for socio-economic development of people in naxal-affected areas and for establishing law and order there.”
During Vikas Yatra, inauguration and bhumipujan of construction works worth crores of rupees is being done in these areas, and people are being benefitted under various schemes.
He said-security forces of both Centre and State are conducting campaign in naxal-affected districts with mutual coordination, as result of which naxalites are being gradually uprooted.
However, this is a long battle, which needs to be fought with alertness and carefulness. He gave example of Sarguja and said that in Sarguja, which we have won the battle in Sarguja with public support and security forces, and people there are living in peace and availing the development schemes.
Soon we will win this battle to end naxal problem in Bastar too. Dr Singh said- in last four year, significant changes have been notices at the naxal front.
He said that Union Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh’s strategies and guidance to end naxalism has benefited the states to a great extent and it has already started yielding positive results. Dr Raman Singh said- Union Home Minister has helped Chhattisgarh on many fronts, which includes sanction of four new Bastariya Battalions, subsidy for reimbursement of payment done to Assistant Constablesm and 50 new fortified police stations etc.
Dr Singh said that Prime Minister and Union Home Minister has sanctioned Rs 700 crore to Chhattisgarh in three years as Special Central Aid for maoist-affected districts. This amount proved beneficial in infrastructural development in such areas.
Dr Singh said- Centre has also approved of installing additional mobile towers in naxal-affected areas. Chief Mininister said that in the review meet held in Raipur yesterday, Union Home Minister had praised the naxal alleviation campaign underway in Chhattisgarh and motivated State Government to keep up the work.
In this meeting, Dr Raman Singh informed Union Home Minister about state government’s steps and initiatives to end naxal violence and terror in state and also about the achievements in the direction so far.>
