Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Speaker Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Charandas Mahant today unveiled statue of Ex-Union Minister and martyr of Jheeram valley naxal attack late Pt Vidyacharan Shukla at the garden situated in front of Raipur Municipal Corporation office, Raipur.
They commemorated the contribution of late Shri Shukla on the occasion.
Chief Minister said that we had lost many important leaders such as Pt Vidyacharan Shukla, Mr. Nandkumar Patel, Mr. Mahendra Karma, Mr. Udai Mudliar. Their sacrifices and martyrdom would always be remembered.
On the occasion, late Pt Vidyacharan Shukla’s wife Mrs. Sarla Vidyacharan Shukla along with other family members, freedom fighter Mr. Mahadev Prasad Pandey,
State’s Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agrawal, Mayor Raipur Municipal Corporation Mr. Pramod Dubey, MLAs- Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma, Mr. Kuldeep Juneja Mr. Vikas Upadhyay,
Ex-Minister Mr. Amitesh Shukla, Ex-MP Mrs. Karuna Shukla, Ex-Mayor Mrs. Kiranmayee Nayak, Public Representatives, corporators, Collector Dr Basavraju S, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Shiv Anant Tayal and a large number of citizens were present.
Observed Silence to Pay Tribute to Martyr Personnel of Pulwama
In the statue unveiling programme, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu&Kashmir that took place yesterday.
He said that the entire country is shocked, sad and angry at this incident. He appealed people of the country to dedicatedly contribute in uprooting all kinds of terrorism in the country.
On the occasion, Chief Minister also administered the oath of ending terrorism to the attendees of the programme. Chief Minister and the audience observed two-minute silence as a courteous tribute to 42 CRPF personnel martyred in the terrorist attack of Pulwama.
