Congratulates MPs for a productive monsoon session of Parliament


Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through Mann Ki Baat on Sunday. This was the 47th edition of the monthly radio programme. Here are the highlights:

* On Sanskrit Day, PM Modi conveyed his greetings to all those who are associated with the Sanskrit and said this language is deeply connected with our culture

* The PM also highlighted the importance of teachers in our society and conveyed his wishes on Teacher’s Day

* Talking about the Kerala floods, he said that India stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of the flood-hit state in this hour of grief. He also appreciated the forces and other agencies working towards the relief work in Kerala

* PM Modi talked about life of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and how he brought a very distinctive and positive change in India’s political culture

* The PM said it was during the tenure of Vajpayee that the size of council of ministers was fixed to 15 per cent of the size of the state assemblies

* Congratulating all the MPs for a productive monsoon session of Parliament, PM Modi said it was devoted to social justice and the welfare of youth

* The Prime Minister also said that their focus is the empowerment of women.
