Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, who was in Dhuragaon village of Lohandiguda block in Bastar to attend a public meeting, recalled how he had promised loan waiver for farmers within days of Congress party taking ove governance in state.
He said that the new state government has indeed fulfilled the promise.
Rahul Gandhi was attending the Krishak Sammelan, farmers’ convention at the site.
The convention began with homage to the martyrs of Pulwama terror attack after which Congress President noted that land acquired for Tata Steel Plant in Lohandiguda has also been returned as per promise.
He said that the land has been returned as per the law of the land and it applies to one and all.
He lauded that Chhattisgarh has become first state of country to have returned the land of tribals for it could not be utilized for steel plant construction.
Rahul Gandhi, who is also looking massive support from people of Chhattisgarh in parliamentary election, said that Jal Jangal and Jameen implying water, forest and land belongs to locals and thus it should benefit locals.
He alleged that while BJP prefers to favour the rich, the Congress always stands with the genuine and underprivileged.
