Congress claims credit; on state govt backpedaling SC/ST Act order

Chhattisgarh Congress has yet again targeted the state government over the SC/ST act and its dilution as alleged by many of the political parties.

With the state government holding up the implementation of the SC/ST Act related recent Supreme Court order and contemplating filing a review petition in the top court, Congress said that this is due to the pressure exerted by them.

The U-Turn as termed by the Chhattisgarh Congress chief, he has now demanded that the officer who issued the directives in the first place needs to face action.

He alleged that the state government is anti-scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.

Baghel said that the state has already witnessed spate of atrocities on the two communities over past more than a decade.

The two communities are aggrieved and the latest directive could have only caused more resentment sensing which the state government retracted the order.
