Congress MP Rajiv Satav passed away at a private hospital in Pune this morning, days after recovering from corona virus infection.

The 46-year-old leader had been on ventilator for the last 23 days.

He succumbed to secondary pneumonia with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome.

Meanwhile, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar have condoled the demise of Mr. Rajeev Satav.

Mr. Naidu said that Rajeev Satav was a dynamic parliamentarian and deeply committed to serving the people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, that he was anguished by the passing away of his friend from Parliament, Mr. Rajeev Satav.

Rajeev was an upcoming leader with much potential, he said.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the untimely demise of Rajeev has caused huge damage to the political arena of Maharashtra.
