As the BJP President Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata to address a rally, he was welcomed with black flags by West Bengal Youth Congress workers.

Local sources said that a group of bike-borne Youth Congress workers waved the black flags outside Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport.

They also shouted slogans against him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Police later swung into action and removed them all from the spot.

It is not only the Congress but even the ruling Trinamool Congress is observing Condemnation Day in parts of the state to oppose draft National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam.

Reacting to the TMC protest, BJP leader and Union Minister Babul Supriyo accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party of destroying the state’s culture and the future of Bengal’s youth.
