Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes Second Men’s Player to Score 100 International Goals

Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday became the second ever male footballer to complete a century of goals in international football after netting in his 100th for Portugal in a UEFA Nations League contest against Sweden.

Ronaldo converted a free-kick just outside the box before the half-time to reach three figures and then scored his second of the night in the 72nd minute as Portugal won 2-0.

Ronaldo made his senior debut at the age of 18 in 2003 and scored his maiden goal against Greece at the 2004 Euro Championship.

The 35-year-old has also scored 9 hat-tricks so far in his international career and after a heart-breaking defeat at the 2004 Euro final, led his country to the title win at Euro 2016 when they beat France in the final. Portugal also won the inaugural Nations League in 2019 and are targeting to defend their crown.
