Crowd lynches mentally unstable person, after he kills three

Enraged villagers in Gumla of Jharkhand lynched a person who may have been mentally challenged.

The rage was triggered when the person himself hacked three persons, including a minor and an infant.

The man also went ahead and injured two other persons.

Police have identified the accused as Chotu Munda, who was stated to be mentally unsound.

The other victims have been identified as 45-year-old woman Bhandain Mundain, her three-year-old son Bipin and a month-old daughter Bibiyani.

Following the incident, enraged villagers in large numbers assembled on the spot and caught hold of the accused and beat him to death, sources said.

The bodies have been recovered and sent for post-mortem, police added.
