Crucial cabinet meet recommends CBI probe into ‘sex tape’ episode

The crucial cabinet committee of state government was held on Saturday and it recommended that the ongoing sex tape controversy be given to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for probe.

It need be mentioned that state Congress President Bhupesh Baghel had also demanded CBI probe into this incident.

Minister Prem Prakash Pandey, who briefed the media persons on this issue, said that the matter for all its aspects be handed over to the CBI for elaborate investigation.

Responding to media queries, he said that now state Congress President Bhupesh Baghel must answer if he was alone in the conspiracy or if national party President Sonia Gandhi was also in the loop.

It need be mentioned that BJP workers late on Saturday evening rejoiced at the assertions of the media that the CD may be morphed or bogus at all and they not only raised pro-Munat and pro-BJP slogans, some of the party workers went to the extent of shouting anti-Congress slogans near Bhupesh Baghel’s residence and also blackened the name plate outside the bungalow.

The state government or the Chhattisgarh unit of the BJP has shown complete solidarity with Minister Rajesh Munat who is alleged to be in the sex tape as had also been claimed by Vinod Verma, the arrested journalist who is set to be  brought to Raipur and produced before court.
