Davos World Economic Forum: China welcomes Modi’s remarks on protectionism

The Davos speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and especially the message that protectionism must be avoided has been welcomed world over and China is no different.

China praised the speech of Prime Minister Modi and expressed interest on working with India to strengthen the globalization process.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that Prime Minister Modi’s speech where he described protectionism as being “as dangerous as terrorism” was worth welcoming and also showed keen interest in enhancing cooperation with India towards common objectives.

It need be mentioned that Modi is the first Indian prime minister to address the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual summit in Davos in two decades.

He talked on host of issues yesterday confronting the global order. The issues includes terrorism and climate change.
