Days after sustaining casualties; security forces in Cgarh down two naxals
Days after red rebels martyred few of the security forces personnel in restive areas of Chhattisgarh, the security forces have hit back and killed two naxals including a woman.
The encounter came about in an exchange of fire with security forces in a dense forest area in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Sukma district on Saturday morning.
Police reports said that the skirmish took place in the forests between Tadmetla and Morpalli villages under Chintalnar police station limits.
This was also confirmed by the Sukma Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena.
It was informed that a joint team of CoBRA (commando battalion for resolute action) 201st battalion – a CRPF specialized unit along with a local police team launched the counter-insurgency operation in the jungles of Chintalnar.
It was during the cordoning off of the forested regions that they came under fire from a group of armed Naxals that led to an exchange of fire, reports said.
After the guns fell silent, the security forces searched the area and recovered the body of two Maoists including a woman, sources claimed.>
