Hearing a petition, the Delhi High Court on Friday sought response from former President Pranab Mukherjee.
The petition is seeking deletion of some portions of his 2016 book for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments.
Justice Pratibha M Singh issued notice to the former President and listed the matter for further hearing on July 30.
It need be recalled that the lower court had rejected the plea seeking deletion of ‘objectionable’ contents in the former President’s book.
The petitioner thus moved to a higher court with an appeal.
The book in question is ‘Turbulent Years 1980-1996′ authored by Pranab Mukherjee.
The petition has been filed by one U C Pandey and a group of lawyers who have objections to certain references in the book regarding the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992.
