Dhadak is doing great business at the box office. After Rs 8.71 crore on day 1, the film is expected to see another boost in collections today and tomorrow.
If the first day numbers are close to Rs 10 crore, you can only imagine how big Saturday and Sunday will get.
After achieving the feat of scoring the highest first-day numbers for a film with debutants by beating Student Of The Year, Dhadak has also secured a place in the list of highest openers of 2018.
It has taken the eight slot by usurping Alia Bhatt’s Raazi. It’s interesting to see how Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film is targeting all Alia Bhatt films.
Raazi released in February and earned a great deal of money at the box office. Alia’s robust performance, a superb supporting cast, deft direction and an amazing pace have made this film one of the winners of 2018.
In fact, it is one of those films which Bollywood should forever be proud of. The film didn’t have any big male superstar in the lead but still, it made more than Rs 100 crore.
Also, it was a women-centric film, a genre which has finally started getting the credit it is due. Clearly, Raazi’s win is more personal for Bollywood than any other movie this year.
Dhadak is a love story…something we loved in Sairat. A glossier retelling of the same, Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film has managed to impress the audience.
There was a lot of pressure on her shoulders because she is Sridevi’s daughter. The late actress was one of the doyens of the industry.>
