DMRC employees insist for pay hikes, threaten strike

The DMRC staff council stated that the demands have been sent to Delhi Metro authorities

 

With the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation employees insisting on pay hikes and promotions, they have now threatened to go on strike.

The workforce of the DMRC is said to be around 9000.

It is also said that a section of the DMRC Staff Council has been demonstrating at the Yamuna Bank and Shahdara metro stations since June 19.

The DMRC staff council stated that the demands have been sent to Delhi Metro authorities and the Union Urban Affairs Ministry seeking redressal of their grievances.

Sources said that apart from regular demands, the staffers also want to change DMRC Staff Council to DMRC Employees’ Union.

They have even demands like implementation of our Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) as per the 3rd pay revision scale.

According to the DMRC, there are a total of 12,000 people employed with the transporters.
