Dozens stranded as roads remain flooded post downpour in national capital

While the heavy downpour in several parts of Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) early on Saturday morning has calmed the tempers in so far as heat conditions are concerned, the water logging often and about does pose a challenge.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that a state bus broke down leaving nearly 30 people stranded on a flooded road in Yamuna Bazar.

Even though police officers came to their rescue, but the passengers had to wade through thigh-deep waters.

The traffic was affected on Mathura road, Shershah road, Mathura road to Bhairon road, Purana Quila road, Bihari colony, Maharishi Raman Marg, Teen Murti Lane, 11 Murti and Girdhari Lal Goswami Marg near post office due to torrential rains, according to the Delhi traffic police.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light showers in the area along with a cloudy weather.
