Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh provided major relief to traders and industrialists from E-Way Bill.
The Bill will be imposed on only 15 items in the State. The authorities had issued a notification in this regard yesterday and it came into effect immediately.
It may be mentioned here that as per the GST regulations E-Way Bill got generated on vehicles carrying more that Rs 50 thousand worth goods in Chhattisgarh State after 1st June 2018.
The traders and industrialists met Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and requested him to impose E-Way Bill only on selected goods and also not impose it within the district.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh had deliberations with Commercial Taxes Minister Mr. Amar Agrawal and decided to consider the matter sympathetically.
The industrialists heaved a sigh of relief after the lifting of E-Way Bill. The Bill will be applicable only on-edible oil, confectionary, pan masala, tobacco production, plywood, tiles, iron and steel, electronic and electrical goods, motor parts, furniture, footwear, beverages and cement and other items.
The State Government had further decided to not to impose E-Way Bill on goods transported within the district. It may be mentioned here that the Bill only be generated if the goods transported are worth more than Rs 50 thousand.
