EC declares Biennial Election to Rajya Sabha from Goa 

New Delhi: The term of office of Sh. Shantaram Naik in the Council of States representing the State of Goa is due to expire on 28th July, 2017.

The Election Commission of India has decided to hold a Biennial Election to the Council of States from Goa to fill up the above said vacancy.

As per the scheduled the notification would be issued on July 4, while last date for filing of nominations is July 11. The nomination papers would be scrutinized on July 12 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is July 14.

The date of polling has been scheduled on July 21 while the polling period is from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. The counting of votes would be held after the polling is completed at 5.00 pm. The election process shall be completed on July 24.
