EC to announce poll dates for West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry assembly elections today

Election Commission will today announce the schedule for Assembly Elections to be held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry at 4:30 PM.

AIR correspondent reports, elections are due for the states in April-May this year. During Covid, Polls will be held for the second time after Bihar elections. Polls will be held for 294 seats in West Bengal, 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 seats in Kerala, 126 seats in Assam and 30 seats in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

All eyes will be on West Bengal where TMC and BJP are in high-pitched campaign mode. BJP which has been making huge inroads into the state has inducted several Trinamool Congress leaders to its state unit to dislodge Mamata Banerjee.
