At least 8 people were killed and 22 others injured in a road accident in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh today.
The accident happened when a roadways bus collided with a gas tanker on Sambhal Moradabad highway.
Death toll may go up as at least 6 injured are in serious condition.
The accident took place due to dense fog during the wee hours, which led to reduced visibility on the roads.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the incident and directed the district officials to supervise the rescue and relief operations.
