Elderly woman beaten to death; when complained of ‘less ration’

Police have registered FIR on the complaint of her son

A woman having gone to fetch ration from fair price shop got beaten to death instead.

The woman was in her seventies and the perhaps was complaining of less ration received which left the shop owner infuriated and he began beating her, police said.

The incident is of Firazabad village in Muzaffarnagar.

Police have registered FIR on the complaint of her son.

Police said that three people including shop owner Naseem have been booked.

The other accused in the case are Shamim and Janu.

It could not be confirmed if anybody of the accused could be arrested.

Tension prevailed in the village following the incident and people refused to handover the body to police for several hours.

he body was later sent for post mortem, police said.
