One is a decided ally, though at times unpredictable and the other is just seen cosying up to BJP – and the two are trying to build a force of their own in Rajya Sabha. So, Bihar CM and JD-U leader Nitish Kumar has requested Telangana CM and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chanmdrashekhar Rao to lend a supporting hand to make JD (U) candidate run successfully for the deputy chair of the Rajya Sabha.
JD(U) has named its MP Harivansh Narayan Singh in the election for Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
Nitish Kumar telephoned TRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday, informing him that Harivansh will be contesting the election as the candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He urged the TRS chief to extend support to Singh.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s office here, Rao told Nitish Kumar that he will take a decision after consultation with party leaders. The Deputy Chairman will be elected on August 9.>
