Elephant menace continues in Jashpur, Ambikapur; trample three locals
Elephant herds in Chhattisgarh state have once again caused menace , especially in Jashpur and Ambikapur region.
In the latest incident that got reported, at least 3 people have been trampled over by the wild elephants who strayed over into the region.
Sources informed that the situation is so bad that the locals are forced to stay up through the night just so they can runaway when another of the elephant herd arrives in the locality.
In another of the development, a herd of elephants was spotted passing through the Garighat village of Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh.
Here too the elephants caused losses to the local farmers whose tomato crops got trampled over as this herd passed over.
The rurals in the area are scared for their life and property even the forest department has sounded alert to the villages. >
