After noted entrepreneur and SpaceX owner Elon Musk, yet another celebrity closer home has taken to deletion of Facebook.
The actor who played Milkha Singh on screen, Farhan Akhtar has now ‘permanently deleted’ his Facebook account.
The actor-producer made the announcement on Tuesday through his official Twitter handle to inform his followers about it.
Akhtar said,“Good morning. This is to inform you all that I have permanently deleted my personal Facebook account. However, the verified FarhanAkhtarLive page is still active.”
However, the actor himself did not mention why he did what he did or if this has anything to do with latest Facebook date breach row.
It need be mentioned that social media giant Facebook is facing the heat after Cambridge Analytica, a British consulting company, was accused of harvesting data of up to 50 million Facebook users without permission and using the data to help politicians.
It has been revealed that the data was used to create political campaigns which helped Donald Trump win the US elections and ensured victory for the Pro-Brexit side in the UK.
It is post this controversy that WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton tweeted on the need to #deletefacebook.>
