Film Gully Boy Receives Best Film Honor at Asian Academy Creative Awards

The film Gully Boy released across different screens earlier this year featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. After the official release of this film, it has received massive appreciation from the audience. For Oscars 2019, this film got an official entry on behalf of India. Apna Time Aa Gaya! is the most famous dialogue from the film Gully Boy. This film has garnered a lot of buzz after the announcement of its entry into Oscars 2019.

Now, the latest news is that this film has bagged the best film award from India in the regional finals at the Asian Academy Creative Awards event. After receiving the award, the Sky is Pink actor Farhan Akhtar expressed his happiness over the success of the film. He then took his official Twitter account to congratulate the whole team for its victory through the sweetest tweet. He wrote, ‘Gully Boy wins the best film from India in the regional finals of the Asian Academy Creative Awards.

This film was made based on real-life rappers namely Divine and Naezy. Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi played the respective roles in the film. Alia Bhatt played the female lead in the film as an ambitious medical student. Gully Boy film also featured Kalki Koechlin and Vijay Raaz in key supporting roles. Besides this film, another film Netflix’s Delhi Crime also received several awards in different categories.

The actor Shefali Shah won the Best Actor award in the lead role and Richie Mehta received awards for Best Direction and Best Original Screenplay. On the other hand, Beverley Mills also got the award for Best Editing and Best Original Programme by a streaming service.
